Beware The Auction Sites
Don't Buy Your New Rims At an Auction
Site...Here's Why
I've finally had enough of auction sites. I've gotta
speak out!
Over the last couple of years we've received a ton of email
from people. Overall they've been pretty positive and
informative.
But the emails we've received the most and with the most
criticism are the one about auction sites.
The majority of the emails about auctions focus on
people getting screwed on their purchase of car rims.
They ask us for help on what to do. And unfortunately
all we can do is offer our condolences on the loss of
their money.
Here's a few examples of what we've heard:
- People buying a particular brand of rim and
receiving something different altogether.
When they try to contact the seller, they get
completely ignored.
- People buying what are supposed to be "brand new
rims" and receiving old, rusty rims.
- People buying "new" rims and receiving rims that
are bent. Can you believe? Selling someone bent
wheels on the premise that they're new? That's just
downright dishonest and unethical.
- People who buy a particular size of rim and
receiving a size that doesn't fit they're vehicle.
This is another example of unsuccessfully trying to
get their money back from an dishonest seller.
- People paying outrageous shipping charges for
rims that they were buying as a real "hot deal".
Just try and get your money
back on this one.
- People paying for so-called one piece wheels and
receiving cheap imitations
So, here's my bottom line advice to those of you who
think buying custom rims at an auction site is
smart..."It ain't."
Unless of course you just want to throw your hard
earned money away.
You're taking a real big risk and in my books it just
isn't worth it. Someone once told me "If it sounds or
looks too good to be true, it is."
So if you're in the market for new rims...DO NOT EVEN
THINK OF BUYING THEM AT AN AUCTION SITE...ANY
AUCTION SITE!
Buy your rims from a reputable online merchant that's
in the business of selling rims and you'll have no
problems.
Oh by the way...forget about a warranty when buying
rims at an auction site. If you get real lucky and are
able to contact the seller and ask that question...all
you'll hear in reply is a great big belly laugh.
