EVO wheels began in 1999 to manufacture advanced, forged, one-piece rims for people wanting the high performance features that only forged wheels can offer.

Evo wheels start as a solid piece of aluminum alloy and, under extreme pressure, are formed into a strong, lightweight but dense wheel.

In contrast, typical cast rims begin their production cycle as a liquid and as such contain some level of porosity (air pockets) that keep them from achieving the same strength, finish quality and weight efficiency as forged wheels. 

The EVO Process

They start with a billet of aircraft grade, high strength, aluminum alloy for a very lightweight, yet strong, wheel.

Prior to the forging process, Evo billets are heated to 800 degrees and then 8 million lbs. of pressure forces the alloy into the rim die.

This extreme pressure creates outstanding density and eliminates porosity in Evo wheels while creating a precise fit.

The “blank” forging (the rim prior to being sized to the proper width and without any styling details) is then spun in one of three computer controlled spinning machines to its full width. The rim is then lathed by computer to turn the forging into a machined wheel.

The completed Evo wheels are robot polished, inspected and hand buffed. The final stage applies six-layers  of chrome finish.
